Team Canada's National Women's team will be participating in the TSN Challenge/Défi RDS, an exhibition game on March 1 versus Olympic arch-rival Team USA prior to travelling to Finland for the 1999 Women's World Championship. TSN will be carrying the TSN Challenge live from coast to coast on March 1, with game time 7:00 EST
The game will take place at the Brampton Centre for Sport and Entertainment, 7575 Kennedy Rd. S., Brampton, Ontario. Game time is 6:50pm. Tickets for the TSN Challenge are available by calling Ticketmaster's charge by phone line at 416-872-5000, or by purchasing tickets at the Brampton Centre for Sports and Entertainment box office. Thirteen of the Team Canada players are currently playing in the NWHL. Sue Merz, of the NWHL's Brampton Thunder, is a member of Team USA. Team Canada assistant coach Ken Dufton is the head coach of the NWHL's Beatrice Aeros.
