Women's World Hockey Championship
The following pictures were taken during the Women's Hockey World Championship
that took place from April 3 to April 9, 2000, at the Hershey Centre, in
Mississauga. Many NWHL players played prominent roles in the 3-2 overtime
Final between Team Canada and Team USA. Jayna Hefford (Brampton Thunder)
scored twice to send the game to overtime, Nancy Drolet (Sainte-Julie
Panthères) scored the overtime winner, and Sami Jo Small (Brampton
Thunder) earned the win for Canada. Sue Merz (Brampton Thunder) contributed
one assist for Team USA. Thirteen players from the NWHL represented Canada,
and three from the USA. In the following photos, Team Canada players are
identified by the letters TC, and Team USA players by the letters TU.
