About me
Hi I'm Rorik. I'm currently based in Toronto (Canada), having spent time in the past living and working in France, Belgium, Italy, as well as other parts of Canada. I worked as a developer and tech support professional for multiple years, before migrating into system administration. After partaking in a few start-ups, I returned to school, joining the DGP Lab (Dynamic Graphics Project) to specialize in Human Computer Interactions (HCI). While there, I explored concepts for multi-user games on cell phone with digital projectors, then turned my attention to creating storyboards for stereoscopic and Virtual Reality (VR) content.
Long before I focused on HCI, I had already adopted a philosophy of "user first", focusing on the user's perspective before worrying about the mechanics to make it happen. Through my experiences, I realized that I love finding new and creative ways to use cutting-edge and existing technology to ensure users have a seamless, easy, and enjoyable experience while using software; in essence, to provide an experience for the user that feels magical.
When I'm not working...
Along with spending time with my family, I love dabbling by creating, and playing games, exploring conceptual ideas, drawing, watching movies, reading, biking, and doing construction projects on my house and garden.
